Most designers like to set a bed as the focal point in bedroom because bed is the largest furniture in the room. But we are going to make something different. We are going to make the wall as focal point. How are we going to do that? Let’s take a look.
Smaller walls are better than bigger wallsWhen we set the wall as focal point, we often use artwork, tapestry or paint colors to attract the eyes. However, the other furniture like rug and chairs are also giving their help to bring the attention to the wall. Smaller walls are easier to be set as focal point because bigger walls can be so dominating that it doesn’t blend with other furniture.
Arranging the itemIf you want to create the wall as focal point, you should know how to arrange the item surrounding the wall. For example, you want to highlight an artwork on the wall, so you should place that artwork on the middle of the wall and put the lesser insignificant items to the sides of the artwork.
Colors on the wallIf you want to attract the attention, there are no items could attract the attention faster than colors. Pick bold colors to one side of the walls as focal point and use neutral colors for the rest of the walls. Pick some accessories that have similar colors with the wall to add some accents to the room. Every guest will know that colors on the wall is your focal point in the bedroom.
Use lights to highlight the wallNatural lights or indoor lighting can beautify your focal point wall.
