Smaller walls are better than bigger wallsWhen we set the wall as focal point, we often use artwork, tapestry or paint colors to attract the eyes. However, the other furniture like rug and chairs are also giving their help to bring the attention to the wall. Smaller walls are easier to be set as focal point because bigger walls can be so dominating that it doesn’t blend with other furniture.

In kitchen peninsula, you put the kitchen counters in a U-shape around the kitchen. This is perfect, of course, if your kitchen is small (remember that article on small kitchen I have written from before? we can apply this style of kitchen to your small kitchen if you want to). In small kitchen, putting a kitchen island is not very effective because the counters in a kitchen island style will take a lot of space. Although kitchen peninsula is a little bit dated (it is a style from the 70’s just so you know), you can still apply for this style should the situation arise.

Pick the tableIf you like to gather your family and friends, you’ll need a large table to accommodate all. Most dinner party have 8-12 people sitting at one time. If you have large room, a dining table that could accommodate 12 people won’t be a problem. It could be a problem for small room. A table with removable table is the best solution in that situation. You can open the leaf when you have dinner party and fold it when you don’t need it, so the table won’t take space in small dining room. Make sure you have 24-30 inches space on the table surface, so that a guest won’t knock the other guests at their elbow. With these tips, arranging the table in dining room can be much easier.

Built-in benchesMake built-in benches in the corner of the room and add small chairs to fill the other side of benches. Pair them with oval or round table. Round table can accommodate more people to seat in and it fits to the corner of the room even to tighter one. Make the most of bench by creating storage space under it to store your fancy chinaware.
