Are you looking for some knowledge about kitchens around Asia? When we talk about Asia, we always talk about countries that were once part of another countries (especially European Countries). Because of that very reason, you can see that many kitchens in third world countries (countries that were once colonies of European Countries) follow the same way of European kitchen decoration. When I was in Indonesian, Indonesia was once a colony of the Dutch people, so I have seen a lot of European kitchen style in this country (especially the drying rack on top of the sink. You will lots of kitchen with it in Indonesia, the contemporary one at least). But that does not Asia does not have it’s particular style of decorating a kitchen. Here, I will talk about how people who live in Asian countries decorate their kitchen.
Many South East Asia countries were once a colony, but I am going to into the detail of the one in the far east like Japan, China, and Korea (the South one, because the North one’s kitchen is pretty much the same with many third world countries kitchen). I do not know the reason, but everybody in Far East Asia like to decorate his or her kitchen in the most natural way. I once visited a friend’s house that took inspiration from the Japanese kitchen and I saw the colour natural brown everywhere. It is not as sleek as American kitchen or as practical as an European kitchen, but somehow the kitchen will give you the aura of tranquillity. I can stay on that kitchen for hours.
Another thing that I heard about Asian Kitchen is that they adhere to Feng Shui, especially Chinese inspired kitchen or Chinese kitchen in general. They believe that putting one thing next to other have meaning, and if you put the things wrong, you will have bad luck. This of course, will have an impact on the kitchen’s decorations and design.
