The dining area is a place to eat. The relation between dining room and kitchen which is very close makes the dining room is usually layed near the kitchen for easy serving and cleanup. For a minimalist house, it is suitable when an open dining area is applied which the dining place can be combined with other room such as living room in order to save the space, makes the room seems larger, and can create a unique fusion.
Here are two designs that can be applied in your dining area combine with other rooms:
a. Giving space. Using an open family room where there is no insulation barrier which are either door or wall that makes the room become separated. With open living room, then you can unite the dining room as well as one place along with the kitchen. Give a space between the living room and the dining room so it becomes more spacious and there is still a boundary between the dining room and the living room even though they were in one room. The selection of color for the room also has to be matched and balanced so it does not look crowded and full because two functions become one in a room at once.
b. A Multifunctional Room. To deal with the narrow land, then the TV in the living room can be affixed to the wall so that you no longer need to add another small table or cabinet to put the TV. You can select a dining table with a square shape so that it can be placed near the wall and you can enjoy a meal while watching the TV. Choose the color of furniture that matches with the color of the walls so that it gives the broad and neutral impression for your room.
Those two ways to make an open dining room design are suitable for being used in a narrow land and a minimalist house.
